Vintage Set Of 4 Schulz Porcelain Cups Limited Edition with Mt. St. Helens Ash Glaze - Just Beautiful Mt. St. Helen's Ash is a natural glaze. It turns brown due to the content of iron oxide, & in high firing melts into our own blue (colbalt)glazes, forming the other colors of the great and beautiful Pacific North West. Not mass-produced, our multi-production method uses 38 steps of production. These include our own original sculpting, mold-making, (the molds can only be used 30 times before new ones need to be made)porcelain slip & glaze formulation, slipcasting, trimming, 3 air-brush glazings, footing, firing and sanding.
