Local pickup only Clinton Township, MI 48038 This is an extremely well cared for pair of Kefs reference series speakers that were taken in on trade from the original owner. They have the factory matched drive units and crossovers in a stunning, book-matched, rosewood finish. Serial # 006265 A/B. Many of these speakers have ended up curbside, in the dumps or in dorm rooms due to the fact that the service required to bring them back to audiophile level performance is relatively extensive, costing several hundred dollars. This beautiful pair has been spared such fate. When the cabinets were opened for service, the deteriorated woofer foam was still intact, indicating that they were, in fact, never abused. An included photo shows one of the woofers before the foam replacement service. All four of the internal woofer foam surrounds and "donut" dust-caps have been replaced. The uni-Q tweeter voice coil gaps were cleared of all old ferrofluid, cleaned and new fluid was added. The damping pad was cleaned and reattached. The crossovers are still original. They sound incredible again, especially for such a small footprint. These have similar features of the flagship 107/2 but in a smaller package. Twin-coupled-cavity bass drivers allow for a smaller footprint while still delivering ample low frequency and the uni-Q concentric mid/tweeter places the tweeter at the center of the midrange driver, where you would normally see a dust cap, for precise stereo imaging and smooth, coherent, voicing. Drive-units: two 6.5" (160mm) fiberglass-reinforced, pulp-cone woofers, one 6.5" (160mm) "Uni-Q" midrange/tweeter with concentric 1" (25mm) soft-dome tweeter. Crossover frequencies: 3rd-order at 160Hz, 5th-order at 2.5kHz. Frequency response: 50Hz–20kHz, ±2.5dB, –6dB at 38Hz (measured at 2m on reference axis). Sensitivity: 91dB/W/m (2.83V RMS input, band-limited 50Hz–20kHz, anechoic conditions). Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms. Amplifier requirements: 50–200W into 4 ohms.
