A Burl is a growth on a tree where the grain has grown in a deformed manner due to stress, injury, or insects. These unusual growths are rare and create mesmerizing grain patterns when sliced to create luxury items like this jewelry chest. This item: Material: Rich burled briarwood (combined with mahogany) in matte finish. Briar Burl wood is expensive because it is very rare. Hardware: 24 K gold plated brass drawer pulls and hinges. An extra pull is provided. Construction: three pull out drawers plus a flip top with two necklace bars. Different sizes of compartments for varied shapes of jewelry pieces, and special ones for rings.
