Description

Mint Condition. This trinket or pill box featuring a golf design is part of the "An 18th Century Craft Revived" collection, a modern take on the traditional Bilston and Battersea enamels that originated in England in 1741. The box is an original, handmade item and comes in its original presentation box. The small, green, cylindrical box features an enamel-on-copper construction with a hinged lid. The artwork depicts a gentleman golfer in historical attire, likely in "plus fours," set against an English countryside background. The interior of the box or lid is detailed with additional related art. Many of these specific golfing designs were created by the renowned artist Ian Marshall, a founder family member of the revived enamel tradition.
