Model 401A “Slant-O-Matic” with Wood Cabinet. When installed in cabinet, machine utilizes a knee pedal and when taken out of the cabinet, the machine uses its foot pedal. By those that know Singer machines. This is a sought after and popular model. The machine tension needs adjusting. The tension knob on the front was turned and I don't know it's proper setting. I am a novice and don't know how to adjust this properly. (Being out of adjustment can bunch or break the thread.) This was my late mother's machine. Over the years she made all types of clothes, even a lovely wedding gown. I do not have the set of cams.
