Description

This Audi TT drives excellent. No leaks. I've rebuilt the bottom end 20k miles ago, studded it and installed quite a few aftermarket parts. It is NOT tuned yet, I was trying to get it in perfect condition first. I've listed everything below but please read the whole listing. Exterior has faded spots and a patch job failing on the passenger side door. Passenger side window doesn't work, it needs a $5 window switch soldered in, there are a few videos showing how. The window motor is fine. Driverside seat is somewhat worn and the door panel top portion near the windows are rolling up, pretty common for these cars. A/C runs cold for 5-10 minutes then suddenly stops. Needs wheel speed sensors. The primary issue: the turbo leaks a small amount of oil into the exhaust if left at idle for 10+ seconds. This goes away after driving or holding idle at 1500 rpm. This problem can be fixed by installing a turbo with a smaller compressor housing or adjusting the turbo center and top mounting it with the brand new exhaust manifold I have included. Read more about this at the bottom of the post. What's new within the past three years: ARP head studs MLS Head Gasket H-beam forged rods (this is the ATC engine with all forged internals, I replaced the forged i-beam rods during the rebuild, the old rods are included) Rod and main bearings, crankshaft mains are turned down 10 thou Main's stretch bolts are new Gates Kevlar timing belt Timing belt tensioner Aluminum water pump Oil pump Alternator 11lbs lightweight aluminum flywheel with replaceable steel face Stage "1.5" southbend clutch and pressure plate (rated to 380ft/lbs) Throwout bearing Front mount intercooler, custom piping and pressure sensor mounting R8 coil packs and conversion mounts Tial wastegate 3" aluminum air intake with K&N filter Forge diverter valve Manual boost controller N75 valve and diverter valve controller are still plugged in and hiding in the bay to prevent error codes. These should be tuned out CXRacing DUAL CERAMIC BALL BEARING T3 T04E TURBO CHARGER STAGE III .48 A/R 4 BOLT https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ 2.5" straight through exhaust with a small straight through magniflow resonator and borla straight through race muffler Vented slotted front disks and pads two years ago Slotted rear disks and pads a year ago Front tires tread is OK but they are 3 years old Rear tires are a year old with good tread, they were replaced because of uneven wear from bad rear springs New rear springs E-brake cables 1st gear getter bushing, all gears go in smoothly Front cv axels Tie rods and ends Driver side lower control arm and ball joint (I have the passenger side as well but haven't installed it, there area no issues with the passenger side so it doesn't need installed but parts included) New sensors here and there SAI delete with block-off plate The turbo issue in detail: The turbo is a dual ball bearing .60/.48 hybrid turbo t3 turbo that has been slightly knocked off center causing it to require more energy to spin and will leak oil into the exhaust at idle due to how a ball bearing turbos seal works (thin white smoke, not coolant, it's oil). It will still produce the 12psi that the stock tune will allow (on an mbc, anymore will force ecu limp mode), but it doesn't sound like it spins as freely. The current exhaust manifold was the only aftermarket available at the time and puts the turbo compressor housing far too close to the firewall which it bangs against if you hit a bad reverse. The turbo was fine for a couple years until the issue crept up. The oil loss is so small you can't even recognize it over a full oil change interval. A couple times I've taken the turbo off and adjusted and the idle smoke goes away and the turbo sounds like a jet engine, throttle response improves 100x .... but the issue comes back because of the poor placement. I have a brand new top mount exhaust manifold for this turbo to be relocated but I do not have the time or money to mount and weld up a new exhaust. I'm selling my project. It has strong internals, brakes great, and is at a perfect point for someone to take over. The exterior is weathered and the interior is not perfect but you can't find a better project car than this
