Ficus elastica ‘Ruby’ is a variegated form of the beloved rubber tree, and its brethren make excellent houseplants, providing lush green beauty and air purification. Gift for Housewarming New House, Home or Office Decor. Ficus love bright, indirect sunlight and lots of it. Your plant will enjoy spending time outside during the summer, but protect the plant from direct sunlight. Ficus only need minimal maintenance. The Ficus plant prefers to dry out some between watering, but do not let the soil completely dry out. We recommend that you water your tree every 5 to 7 days, or when the top inch of soil is dry.
