The problem in detail SUV was driving great! Went to store and when I got back in it would not come out of park. Did some googling and determined it was a brake light switch because the brake lights weren’t coming on as well. I managed to find a work around to get it out of park by turning key 2 positions and putting it in neutral. It started right up and then I could shift to any gear. Had my mechanic come out to replace the brake light switch. Unfortunately the switch was in a very hard place to reach behind the big metal pole the brakes are attached to. He tried removing the bolts to the pole to see if he could move it a bit to reach the switch but it barely moved. He put the bolts back on but we realized the brakes were now working. I had planned on eventually taking it to a shop to get diagnosed. But in the meantime I was able to drive it doing the work around trick. One day I heard a clanking sound as if something was hitting something. It would happen intermittently when I turned, stepped on the brakes or accelerated. This transpired for a couple weeks. I was at a light one day and when I accelerated I heard a loud clunk as if something had just came apart. The check engine light didn’t come on, the SUV was still running and moved forward but slowly. Luckily I was close to my destination so I drove there. I attempted to make a U turn but it wouldn’t go in reverse. I parked it and then had it towed home. I am able to still do the work around to shift it into different gears. Still no check engine light on. I planned on taking it to a shop and seeing what the issue is but I’ve decided to sell it instead. Other known issues are the radio is locked and I don’t know the code. But you can get that info from the dealership and the A/C needs to be recharged. Heat works fine. This vehicle is perfect for someone mechanically inclined. It’s a great workhorse vehicle with lots of life left on it. I’ve replaced several parts through the years I’ve had it. I have all maintenance receipts. I used it a lot for camping as all the seats fold flat to make a queen size bed. Perfect for someone who wants to hit the road on adventures or to use for work. It’s got power. Can also be parted out as I’ve replaced several parts through the years. Vehicle will need to be towed and jumped. I do have title on hand and maintenance receipts. Registered till December. I also have more photos but was limited to how many I could post. It’s located in Davis off Richards blvd. $1200 OBO
