Description

This is a vintage 1965 Standel Custom Deluxe Model 101 with a Sunburst finish. Standel was primarily an amplifier company, but for a short time between 1961 and '67, they began building several electric guitars. Based in California, the company's founder, Bob Crooks, worked with Semi Moseley (of Mosrite) and later Joe Hall, who designed several Mosrite-inspired guitars for Standel, including the Model 101. It is a solid body guitar, with notable Mosrite-influenced features, including its German carve, the serial stamped into the fretboard, and the Bigsby-meets-Vibramute tailpiece. It has original Grover tuners, as well as two awesome single coil pickups. It is in good shape, with nicks and dings, and flaked lacquer. It has really cool playwear along the back of its neck, too. It plays effortlessly, with small fretless wonder-style frets, and a thin c neck profile. This guitar sounds awesome and weighs 7 lbs 10 oz. It has been professionally setup and comes with a hardshell case.
