Description
This 50+ year old wall plaque is ready to grace the walls in a firefighter's house or or anyone’s house for that matter. It is HUGE, in perfect condition and is the ultimate throwback to the early days of firefighting when horses were used to drag wagons full of firefighters and equipment to the scene. Hoses, helmets, buckets, horns, ladders, axes and even the Dalmatian appear on this unique piece of wall art. Side note... did you ever wonder why Dalmatians are associated with firefighting? They weren't just cute mascots back in the day. They were trained to run ahead and clear the streets in front of the horse drawn wagons as they guided the horses directly to the location of the inferno. We have a feeling this one is going to go fast! Anybody involved with the fire department will feel an immediate attraction to this large 39" x 17.5" piece. The size alone would be enough to catch your eye, but it's the wonderful color, style and vintage nature of the piece that will keep you looking at it. It is made of a hardened, molded plastic or resin and gives the appearance of cast iron. It is ready to hang by the embedded saw tooth hanger on back. The date of production is in roman numerals - which is just one of those things you don't see anymore.
