Description

This beautifully loved 3rd Mattel Barbie Model 850 has her original stand issued in 1960, and all the pieces of her original box dated 1959. She has lifelike blue eyes and light brown eyebrows, brown eye shadow, vinyl skin, strawberry blonde hair with poodle curls, red lips and nails, and her rare first-edition Barbie-Q outfit with red trim accessories. Issued: 1960 Model: 850 Box Date: 1959 Size: 1:6 scale, approximately 11.5" tall Hair: Poodle curls and ponytail (flattened over time, no hair missing but no hard curl at the end). Soft floss hair with flocked head, blonde. Appears strawberry blonde, no missing hair but does not have original braid (professional restyle is possible at buyer's expense). Face: Blue eyes, light brown eyebrows, brown eye shadow, red lips, some skin lightly faded with minor wear and tear. Body: Heavy solid rubbery body, faded flesh tone, no nipples, no holes in feet. Red fingernails and toenails with no visible paint peel, original pearl earrings (one faded) with minor ear green around left lobe, original marking on bottom. No missing fingers/toes, no swingy arms/legs, has excellent face paint with only small/minor rubs and no darkening, no missing hair.   Marked: Barbie™ Pats. Pend. ©MCMLVIII by Mattel, Inc. Box: 1959 Gay Parisienne Barbie Box, worn with tears, both box lid ends detached but all pieces included and restorable.   Includes: Black Pedestal Stand with T-Wire. Outfit: #962 Barbie-Q Outfit, rare in mint condition, only manufactured from '59 to '61. Rose sleeveless dress edged in ivory white crochet with back snap closure, ivory white chef's hat and apron with tie back closure and original pleating for tool pockets, four barbeque tools with painted red handles (rolling pin, steak knife, spatula, serving spoon), white open-toe heel shoes with original holes in soles, chef's hat, original rare first-issue black and white Barbie doll clothing label with Barbie TM (later changed to Barbie R). Also wearing floral petticoat underwear. Clothing and accessories not included: Red and white check potholder, Barbie-Q Outfit booklet. Also does not include original black and white zebra-striped swimsuit, black open-toe mules, gold hoop earrings, or white sunglasses. Lovingly preowned in above average to excellent* condition, sold as-is. *Valuation Estimate The value range listed for this type of Barbie is $700-$5000, which is meant to give someone with no knowledge of vintage Barbie an approximate idea of value of dolls in average to excellent condition. Values vary wildly for many different reasons including the condition of the doll, any original accessories included, the cycles of the market. Value range does not include values for rare versions of dolls or doll clothes.   Excellent: This is based on dolls that have no missing fingers/toes, no swingy arms/legs and have excellent face paint or small minor rubs, no darkened face, no missing hair.  Very few Ponytails have the original top and bottom bands because the rubber bands disintegrate, so a professional restyle is possible and common. Average: This is based on dolls that have no major damage. Barbie may be missing the original hair bands and be out of the original style and she may even have some thinning on one or two inconspicuous hair plugs, but there are no haircuts or large amounts of hair missing. There may be rubs on the lips, eyebrows or eye ridges, but the doll is not missing significant amounts or all lip or eyebrow paint. The arms and legs aren't swingy or don't fall out of the sockets. There is no major damage such as nose nips or neck splits or significant green ear. For additional photos or information, please inquire with seller.
