I’m blowing out my extra camping gear - this now includes two 6’ collapsible aluminum poles, which are used with grommets in the vestibule door, to turn it into a small shelter over a picnic table, or similar arrangement. This tent has seen four camping trips from 2013-2016: state park car camp weekend, eaux claire festival, friends annual fall trip, and a five day late summer BWCA trip. It performed well in every situation, although was too heavy for the boundary waters — I knew it would be, but we had rain in the forecast, and I was the only person in a group of four that had been before, so I opted for this to a) guarantee everyone would be dry, and b) we’d have plenty of room to hang out and wait out the rain. It definitely served those purposes well. It’s got great features, it’s well made, and doesn’t have any real downsides beyond its size and weight — but it’s really not meant to be a backpacking tent I am 6’ tall and can stand up inside. As long as you pitch the rainfly nice and taught - and open the vents a little bit there is no condensation.
