Image Size: 23 ¾” × 15 ¾” Paper Size: 28 ½” × 21” DALE RAYBURN was born to a Southern farm family in Carriere, Mississippi, in 1942. He developed his art largely by self-instruction before studying at the University of Southern Mississippi and receiving his Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Mississippi in 1970. Rayburn has worked in a number of mediums, including oils, acrylics, charcoal, and prints (now his favorite). He has exhibited at the National Academy Gallery, Hanover Trust Bank Gallery, and Abercrombie and Fitch in New York; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Seattle Museum; Portland Museum; Vincent Price Collection, Chicago; Holyoke Museum, Massachusetts; Gallery of Contemporary Art, North Carolina, and other national and regional exhibitions. Rayburn has received numerous honors and has been exhibited in Northwest Printmakers International, Audubon Artists, and Mainstreams 72. He has been awarded more than 20 one-person shows in recent years and was commissioned to paint murals for Sears and the National President of the American Institute of Decorators.
