This clock is not exactly a high dollar Grandfather clock. But if you don’t want to spend $1000 plus (Some Grandfather clocks are in the $10Ks) on some fancy shmancy ridiculously expensive clock, then check this one out. This was the only kind I could find under $1000. Even refurbished clocks are expensive. And what is so great is the fact that it is different. No pendulum in the middle to tear up. I’ve known several GF clock owners whose pendulums tore up. This allows you to put pics of your special stuff in a special spot. And it is a plus that it doesn’t go off during the night. Last chime is 10pm. And first AM chime is 6. Everyone who seen it commented how pretty it is. Simple and Not too fancy. This ain’t one of those “smart” gadgets. Just a good ol time piece that works on batteries. It’s got a down home country or farmhouse kind of feel to it for us. It is already assembled for you which really just involved inserting the shelves in the middle and attaching the top and bottom to the shelves. If you are wanting a traditional GF clock, this isn’t it. So don’t be silly knowing I only spent about $400 on this and then expect it to be as high quality as the high dollar ones. Not trying to fool you into that. This is simply a decent alternative that is pretty and different that won’t break your bank. We don’t care to waste money on flashy but like to have things that at least look decent and nice without going broke. This was perfect. We had it in our granddaughter’s bedroom and now we are updating so there’s no room for the beauty anymore.
