Description
So first of all, I’m not really looking to sell her because I’ve got the setup pretty aces but the Ibanez aficionado in me yerns for an Ibanez or something with a rad extreme body style (you know like an Explorer/Kelly, RR, something extreme!). So I thought I’d post and see what I get. About the axe. She’s a rare Transparent Amber Ale finish (orange-ish red-ish) and the finish on these were very thin so there is some blemishes (noticeable on the back mostly where the back plate goes) but there are very few. The finish itself is primo. The stock pickups are in it (DiMarzio Evo in the bridge and Tone Zone in the neck) with the addition of an Alnico 2 single coil in the middle. With this mod, a 5-way switch was added. This was a mod that was professionally done by the original owner. The neck, like most Charvels, has a very worn and comfy feel to it that makes it super easy to play. Original Floyd Rose top mounted bridge that stays in tune very well. It’s got the ideal tension for awesome flutters. I have it parallel with the body so you can go up a little bit. The action is as low as it can go. Can send a pic of the action if needed. Wayne Charvel changed the game in the late 70s by helping dudes like EVH, Warren DiMartini, George Lynch, Steve Vai and other guitar virtuosos by building super Strats and loading them with high output pickups. Grover Jackson picked up where Wayne left off and the rest was 80s shredding history. Charvel went away for a period in the late 90s and when they came back (Fender purchased them) and started making production guitars again (2008), they did limited runs of USA made guitars in small batches. They only made a small number of each batch. The neck stamp on this is September of 2009 and the body says October 2009. I believe there were 9 batches released in total this was the 8th batch (1 of 3 batches for that year). Most Charvels are loaded with Seymour Duncan’s but some of the USA models were loaded with DiMarzios and that is another feature that makes this a bit rare. Comes with the original Charvel HSC, whammy bar and backplate. Let me know what you got! No low balls. Interested in MIJ Ibanez (Prestige, JEM, JS, vintage 80s and 90s RGs) Jackson RRs, Jackson USA, Yngwie Strats, other USA Charvels… mainly shredders! Again, in no hurry. If the prices is right, I will entertain a cash offer 🙃
