Description

This is a 2001 Jagmaster Standard Series, Squier’s blend of a Jaguar and a Jazzmaster. This model is the grandfather of all the Paranormal Series guitars. This one is from the 1st generation and has the 25 1/2 (25.5) inch scale length, later models had a shorter scale length. I loaned the guitar to my nephew and took it back after I discovered he spray painted the body. I had to strip and sand off his horrible paint job but in doing so large areas of the candy red metal flake came off too. I decided to go all the way with an aged relic look. In keeping with the vintage vibe I converted it over from a modern 2 point tremolo to a vintage USA Fender tremolo. The stock humbuckers couldn’t give me the tones I wanted so I went with a Rio Grande BBQ Bucker in the bridge and a Rio Grande Fat Bastard (the hottest P-90) in the neck. I had to do a lot of custom work to the pickguard to make the covered pickup fit in the stock pickguard. As for the electronics I went with Dunlop Super Pots and a Pure Tone 4 point input jack. The stock one pin tuners were upgraded to G&L vintage style split top tuners, the best on the market. A Fender “F” logo neck plate was installed in keeping with the vintage vibe as well as new USA Fender knobs. The guitar has a new set of Ernie Ball Cobalts 10-48 strings and was professionally set up. The guitar plays and sounds absolutely amazing, from bright cleans to deep dark growling tones. There is some minor rash on the back of the neck from my nephew’s guitar stand. Additionally, there is a small ding in the neck, not sure what he did (see photos). Neither of these blemishes hinder the playability but I believe in full disclosure… no lousy surprises. Only selling because I made a promise to my wife that I would thin the collection. Asking $380.00 Includes padded Fender gig bag (no tremolo arm as I don’t use them but a USA trem arm is readily available anywhere) There’s well over $300 in the new electronics alone, with the new G&L tuners, professionally built and set up… I’m losing money at the asking price so low ball offers will be ignored.
