Description
From the estate of Dr. Anderson, a member of the Shawnee Tribe, comes this beautiful and substantial Turquoise and Sterling Silver cuff bracelet . It was purchased by him from its creator for his own personal Native American Collection and Indian museum. The color change of the turquoise stones are a testament to its age and the wear and patina on the silver will tell you that it was a cherished piece. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and it fits loosely. It weighs 86.9 grams and it is in exceptional condition. While Dr Anderson was from the Shawnee Tribe, he was also adopted into the Sioux and Blackfoot Nations. He was an avid collector and spent much of his time traveling the US participating in Powwow’s, Drummings, Potlatches, and other sacred ceremonies, all the while trading and purchasing precious Native American artifacts. One of his most prized possessions was Sitting Bull’s collection which eventually was sold in part to the Cody Museum in Wyoming and donated to the Smithsonian Institute.
