This bin has been great. Perfect for storing all of my camping gear. I've had it outdoors under a covered area for 3 years and none of my gear has even remotely been effected by the elements. It is thick plastic with great hydraulic hinges (lid stays open when lifted) and a strong latch to keep it closed. No damage, great condition, just some light dust on the top (if I had a water hose I'd clean the top, but I don't).
