Description
69 long 33 deep 20 high No holds We can help you load Cash, Venmo or Zell (with license matching name) This beautiful piece began its life in Northern India during the early–mid 1900s, where it served as a pitara chest—a traditional household storage box used for textiles, wedding linens, valuables, and everyday family goods. Unlike the more common lift-top versions, this chest features a front-access design, with two small doors opening into a deep interior cavity. This style was especially common in rural Rajasthan and Gujarat, where families stacked chests along the walls of their homes. Handcrafted from old-growth teak and reinforced with original hand-forged iron strapping, the chest shows the authentic marks of age: hand-cut planks, rustic joinery, and time-worn surfaces that tell its story. It was later converted into a coffee table and fitted with oversized hand-turned baluster legs, finished in a naturally distressed, multicolored patina. A striking statement piece rich in history and artisan character—perfect for boho, hacienda, Spanish Revival, or global-inspired interiors. Storage: Two front doors open to a large interior compartment Condition: Structurally solid with age-appropriate patina Dimensions: Add yours here Pickup: Dana Point / San Juan Capistrano
