Description

1972 "Peeping Tom" earth colored, rough glazed sculptured vase featuring one Gremlin/Troll climbing on top of another while trying to get a glimpse of the naked imp inside. Both Gremlins sport evil tooth filled grins. A unique, humorous, and quality work of art by Jim Rumph. It measures 7.5" tall from bottom to top of Gremlin x 6" wide. Distributed by Ceramarte of Brazil signed "Rumph" and marked with the signature lizard hand. This piece includes the original Rumph tag. Please note that the tag is damaged (see photos) An American eccentric contemporary sculptor, James Calhoun Rumph (1(contact info removed)) was described as a "wild and crazy guy" with a passion for life. He studied his art at the University of the Redlands and the LA School of Art. His pieces were produced in association with the Ceramarte of Brazil studio in addition to his own ventures of the Slyme Factory/Mind Circus. He enthusiastically embraced the fantasy genre during his life. His art is collected by George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Gus Lopez. His pieces include mythological and magical figures as well as Star Wars, E.T., and Superhero characters. These pieces are very collectible and sold on multiple art platforms. Excellent condition. No chips, no scratches, no crazing or cracks.
