Description
For sale: Vintage 1980s Electro-Voice EVM-15L Series II Premium 12” Guitar/Bass Amplifier Speaker-200-Watts/4-Ohms Made exclusively for SLM (St. Louis Music) who manufactured Ampeg and Crate amplifiers throughout the 80s and 90s. This speaker was made in 1986 and still has the original cone and it’s working flawlessly and sounding even better than the day it was made! Similar to the legendary EVM-12L, this EVM-15L has a lower bass frequency response, and can interchangeably be used in bass amps, PA speaker cabinets, and guitar amplifiers. Rated at 4-ohms this speaker was likely made for a 1x12 bass combo, but has lived in a Mesa Boogie 1x12 combo for the past 25 years. As used by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, Santana, Warren Haynes, Robben Ford, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde, and the list goes on and on… These 20 lb., 200-watt, 12” woofers are renown for their consistently clean and clear tone which doesn’t color the tone of your guitar, amplifier or pedals, but essentially reproduces whatever you put into it. They are used in many Mesa Boogie amplifiers, as well as Dumble, and Soldano. Many professional guitarists prefer them over any other speaker due to their reliability and power handling capability.
