A fine Italian labeled violin Ansaldo Poggi da villa fontana fece in Bologna anno 1960 initialed A. P a lovely instrument indicative of the golden age of violin making the top is a lovely fine to medium grained spruce with delicately fluted f holes nicely channeled outgoing and deep corners. The back is a fine two piece back with medium fine figure. Delicately carved scroll with boxwood fittings and ebony fingerboard plays evenly across all positions and across all strings. Robust soloist tone suitable for players of all calibers. Golden reddish orange varnish with slight antiquing.
