Description

Hi all, Have a 1995 Washburn Dime-3/D3 Dimeslime for sale. It doesn’t need to be said these are extremely rare and covered among Dime fans. I found this one at an extremely amazing price in Japan, soon after getting a 1995 Dime 3 Dimebolt - I am more keen on keeping the latter. Curiously enough, this Slime’s serial is 950177, and Dime himself had two - 950183 and 950203, so this is fairly early in the run. Happy to entertain offers but also to keep this if I don’t get a satisfactory price, it’s not a must-sell for me by any means. One piece flamed maple top, mahogany body with a set mahogany neck. The bridge is the stock Schaller that is Washburn-stamped. The 1995 models had a reflective razor blade inlay with the serial, subsequent models either have a stamped serial alone, along with a Buzz Feiten logo and/or Washburn Custom Shop logo. Apart from the blade inlay for the serial, the 1995 models also have an unmarked Bill Lawrence L500, with an unmarked Seymour Duncan ‘59 in the neck. As for the neck repair, I believe there was significant damage from one of the previous owners to the neck, below the volute - this appears to be common among a lot of D3s. While a repair was made, and it has been reglued and it holds tunefine, it isn‘t great cosmetically by any means - I have marked it as fair. If I keep it, or if any of you purchase it, I would recommend getting this refinished - the other Slime on Reverb has a much nicer repair and I have seen better repairs still where the neck looks good as new. The other issue is that there is no hardcase, and the guitar ships in a gigbag. For obvious reasons, I will ship this in a reinforced box and the parcel will be 26-27 lbs in weight - your choice of USPS Priority International (US customers), UPS or FedEx. Ships worldwide.
