Vintage Schwinn World Sport - 27” Frame!

This is a great condition, late 80’s (I think 1989) Schwinn World Sport in the largest frame size offered - 27”! The bike has been overhauled, with recent service including new tires, all bearings cleaned and re-greased (front and rear hubs, bottom bracket, headset, pedals), new Kool Stop salmon brake pads, cables and housings replaced and lubed as needed, and everything adjusted to shift smooth and stop quickly. The frame is double butted 4130 Cromoly, and aside from a few paint chips, is in remarkably good condition for its age. The seat tube measures 27” from center of bottom bracket to top and has a stand over height of about 37”. The drivetrain is a 2x6 12 speed with Suntour components. The stem-mounted shift levers include a switchable index/friction shifter for the rear derailleur. The wheels are 27” ARAYA aluminum alloy. There is a U-lock holder on the bike and I have the lock that goes with it, however there is no key. The holder may work with other locks. The stock kickstand also comes with it, but it isn’t shown in the photos. This bike is ready to ride and needs nothing but a tall rider!
