It has a built-in easel stand, so it’s ready to stand on its own as soon as you get it home or you if you're handy then you can hang onto your walls. Due to its easel stand, I recommend hanging it on the wall if you have young kids or toddlers. Since I have no children in my household, I had no problems with the stand and has never fallen.
