The game of skittle dates back many centuries and is usually associated with the United Kingdom, though research has found that it was popular all over Europe. Skittles was played outdoors or in; it was the precursor to the American game of bowling. This set is only five pins. The pins are 7.5" tall and 1.25" at their widest point (bottom diameter is .75"). The pins show wear (the pins are around a 100 years old), captured in photos. Still playable, but this antique set would also make an attractive decoration.
