Description

McCAINE MID CENTURY ORIGINAL LONG BILLED CURLEW PAINTING This large original oil on canvas by McCaine is nicely framed in its original frame. The frame has some normal nicks due to age. Frame is a wooden with chrome trim that measures 37" 1/2 half inches height by 37" 1/2 half inches width & is ready to hang. Painting measures 36" x 36" inches. McCaine, a very prolific artist born in the Midwest moved to Southern California where he studied art and began his experimental search for a distinctly individualistic painting style. He painted impressionist and abstract paintings. His paintings are very colorful, whimsical and timeless scenes, using bold colors. His usual known medium was oil but could have others. His paintings primarily have a 1960's modern flair and he probably continued painting into the 1970s. He was a featured artist at Aaron Brothers Framers in Palm Springs, California. He was also the featured artist in the April 1970 edition of Palm Springs Life magazine.
