The Thestral was a breed of winged horse with a skeletal body, a face with reptilian features, & wide, leathery wings that resembled a bat's. Thestrals are known as omens of misfortune & aggression by many wizards because they are visible only to those who have witnessed death at least once (& fully accepted the concept) or due to their somewhat grim, gaunt & ghostly appearance. They can be domesticated & mounted, so they are used as an alternative to brooms, Apparition & other methods of transportation. Once trained, they are very diligent & will quickly carry their owners wherever they wish to go. This figural thestral pin has pearlescent blue enamel with silver details. It measures 2" tall by 1 1/4" wide. It has one prong with a metal fastener. It's brand new, never worn or displayed, & comes in it's original packaging. Smoke-free & pet home.
