Description

COLLECTORS ITEM! VERY RARE! This bike has been stored in garage. The battery does not charge. Needs a new battery. Comes with charging cord. The battery is dead and needs to be replaced. The automotive guru Lee Iacocca, man largely responsible for an iconic sports car Ford Mustang and later saving a car manufacturer Chrysler on the verge of collapse came to Florida more than 19 years ago to hawk a different product – an electric bicycle. This pioneer of electric bicycles was way ahead of its time. These ebikes also came with features like cruise control, front suspension to smooth out the bumps, a horn, and lighting. Front disc brakes were optional, and I think this is the most important feature to have, which was fairly progressive in 1999. Lee Iacocca was quoted as saying that “a Mercedes guy designed it for me”… A high powered, feature rich electric bike ahead of its time designed by Lee Iacocca (the pioneering engineer behind classic Ford and Chevy automobiles) Discontinued, EV Global Motor Company went out of business Strong 500 watt geared rear hub motor by Heinzmann paired with capable 36 volt SLA battery Full of extras and creature comforts including front and rear headlights, side mirror, fenders, a horn and a shock on the fork and seat post Retail price was around $2,000 back in early 2000 With 36 volts of power, a top speed of up to 18 mph, a range of up to 20 miles on a single charge, and lots of torque, the SX and LE model E-Bikes will get you where you need to go! Especially designed for hill climbing and added acceleration, the SX, LE, and LE Touring bikes are perfect for those who enjoy riding but occasionally want a little powered assistance when needed. The power-on-demand system provides instant acceleration without pedaling and sustained speed when needed or just for fun. Just press the throttle to engage the motor and you’re on your way! Safety features include a 35-watt halogen headlight, LED brake light, electric horn, and rear-view mirror. The SX model, built for the more active rider and moderately rugged terrain, is the SUV of E-Bikes. It has all of the features of the standard LE model including the following: triple-clamp fork front suspension, high-performance front disc brake, sport alloy handlebar and stem, suspension seat post, sport fenders, and high efficiency puncture-resistant tires. For your convenience, each model has a removable and rechargeable battery pack. You can charge the battery in or out of the bike in 4 hours by plugging it into a standard 110-volt wall outlet.
