1825 Capped Bust Half Dollar -- SCARCE HIGH GRADE SILVER GRADE!

For sale is a rare 1825 Capped Bust Silver Half Dollar. The Capped Bust Half Dollar was minted 1807 to 1839 and are very scarce because they minted so few of them, and this coin is no exception with just 2.9 million coins minted. It is a very unique coin because it had words actually stamped into the edge of the coin that said "FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR." The Mint did not letter the edge of any other coin until the modern Presidential Dollars of today. The biggest thing that makes this coin so top shelf is it is high grade, which is so tough to find Capped Bust Halves in. And like all Capped Bust Halves this coin is also 90% silver. As you can see from the pics the coin is in great shape, and it would grade at a high XF grade, very close to being AU grade, which is considered very high for Capped Bust Halves. The date, stars, and all lettering are strong and bold. Every letter of LIBERTY on the obverse and all the eagle's feathers on the reverse is present which is usually the first thing to wear down on these coins. The coin has lots of luster to it, and it has no major damage, but its only flaw is that is has had some cleaning at some point. I did reduce of the coin nicely due to the cleaning, otherwise it would be priced MUCH higher. This is a great collectable coin great for any collection. Please email me with questions or interest.
