VINTAGE GERMANY HOFBAUER BYRDES CRYSTAL PERFUME BOTTLE : The History of Hofbauer Crystal | Hofbauer Crystal Co. of West Germany produced collectible lead crystal in the mid- to late 1900s . Though the company is now defunct, their crystal pieces are popular purchases at flea markets, online auctions and antique stores. The history of the company is a part of the history of glass making in the Bavarian region of Germany. Hofbauer Crystal closed sometime in the late 1900s. Hofbauer Byrdes Crystal is noted for its traditional bird design cut into the glass. This piece is made of 24% lead crystal and made in W. Germany. It has an atomizer and comes with its original label. It is in Excellent condition with no chips or cracks and appears to have never actually been used to hold perfume. It measures 5 ¾” high by 4 ¼” wide.
