Likes a 16” log or 18” log preferred but can do one or two longer ones Extremely well made, nice burning stove. This ones built to last a lifetime. Has refractory Baffle combustion package, low emissions, it draws the smoke in through the bottom confinheats it up and burns like an after burn. Its not quite a catalytic stove but very nicely baffled. No air tubes! No cat. Designed internally more like a lopi leyden than some of the other Vermont Castings w cats. Older model 1990s top of the line, not their largest but large and their most efficient least finicky , easy to control, reliable steady heat to get through the night and longer on a log, still one of their best models produced.
