In box never used I bought two of this lamp to replace my existing desk lamp but I ended up using one only. The lamp saves space, has 3 brightness levels. Being able to detach the lamp head from the magnetic base stand is an added bonus; very helpful when I want to use a flashlight. I like how the lamp head is rechargeable using a USB cable. This ability to use the lamp untethered enables me to move the lamp and base around and use it as a work area torchlight when I'm working outside or far away from an electrical outlet. It is easy to detach the base and it packs up well for travel uses (Let's say you absolutely have to take a lamp with you). The box also comes with a magnetic base with double-sided tape for you to mount a secondary location for the desklamp, such as by your bedstand, a nice bonus.
