Rare, Vintage Adolphe Sax Low Pitch Alto Saxophone Made in Paris, France - Circa 1900-1907 - Original Hard Shell Case Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a piece of musical history! This beautiful, rare, low-pitch alto saxophone was designed by famed Belgian saxophone inventor Adolphe Sax (November 6th, 1814-February 7, 1894). Made before the Selmer takeover, this sax was built in Paris, France at 84 rue Myrha, the Adolphe Saxophone workshop. This unique saxophone features trill keys, brass with a beautiful gold finish, and an original vintage hard-shell case. The main inscription/engraving prominently features the classic AS logo and reads "Medaille d'Or 1900, Adolphe SAX, Feur de l’Académie Nle de musique, 84. RUE MYRHA, Paris, Made in France". The serial number (14732) is engraved on the neck, and several additional engravings read "Dépose" (registered). This saxophone has not been played in several years, but appears to be in playable condition. Saxophone has minimal normal surface wear consistent with age. Case has wear consistent with age and use. Several (new, unused) vintage reeds and a vintage Frank Holton saxophone lyre included.
