Fireplace grate made locally in Litchfield CT by Grate Wall Of Fire from 3/4” solid square bar steel. Unlike a regular grate that stacks wood on top this one acts like a hopper and also allows for coals to build up and helps to push more of the heat out towards the room rather than up the fireplace. This one has added decorative addons (they come off if not wanted) also bought separately is the 1/2” cast iron plate that gets put behind the grate to help reflect the heat. Everything offered here was originally around $400. This grate has worked well for us for years and made to last for years longer. Also looks nice in the firebox with or without a fire. We got an insert and no longer need a grate. It measures 26” across 15” deep (about 16.5” including extra fire plate, and 20” high. This will fit a medium sized firebox.
