VIN: JH2PC1705GM009353 Condition: Fair **SOLD AS IS** This is an uncommon classic motorcycle that Honda created to compete with Harley during its only production years of 1986 and 1987. Since then, only 250cc Rebels have been produced. I never got around to working through any repairs, and now I do not have a place to work on it, so I am selling it. At time of storage (March 2020) the engine ran very rough, and has a "hunting idle," meaning the RPMs go up and down randomly. This occurs while driving too, which is dangerous. In April 2021, I checked on it for the first time to start it up since storage began. I hooked up a new battery and it doesnt start - no power either. Perhaps when I connected the new battery it shorted a fuse. Take that for what you will. At the time of storage other observations are as follows: Electrical components worked for the most part. Rear right blinker probably needs new bulb. No issues with hi/low beam Some blinkers light up in front and back while others don't. I'll have to recheck that to detail about it. The little vacuum tube for the carb cracked from becoming brittle, so that needs replacing to even get the bike started. When the bike still had power, I put tape on the vacuum tube and it was enough to get it started for proof of engine start-up. Once the power is restored and the vacuum tube is replaced, there shouldn't be any problems starting it up (no gaurantee), but if it starts it will  (at best) run very rough. Major requirements needed are a tune-up and gear work.. Something is wrong with the 4th or 5th gear per the guy I bought this from a few years ago. RPMs ride high to keep engine running. Other repairs  are likely needed. Chain needs replacement as well. Definitely needs a carb cleaning and possible carb rebuild as fully opening the choke shuts down the motorbike. Rear brake pedal isn't very sensitive. You'd have to press it almost all the way through its range of motion to get any amount of rear braking (not much), so the rear brakes need adjustment for safety reasons and probably need brake fluid too for that matter. Theres a fuel-to-air ratio imbalance, which causes some popping sound cumbustion in the exhaust. Dent on left side of tank where emblem is. There is a tear approximately 2-3 inches along the seam of the seat but the seat is solid. Other than the above, this motorbike has normal wear/scratches from over the years, and is in good looking shape. Good project bike. Air-cooled with 5 gears and OD. NOT at all safe to drive. Must be trailored or put in a van/pickup. You can either pick it up, or I can deliver it for the cost of a uhaul rental and mileage to the delivery destination. Negotiable.
