Description
Clean and very straight vehicle. Exterior in great condition. Paint still in good condition. Damage to lower air dam in front of vehicle which caused the fog light to crack. But otherwise exterior in good shape. Interior is very clean but shows the wear of a car with 200k+ miles on it. Rear seats are near perfect (hardly ever used). Front and rear seat heaters work perfectly. Front electric seats work but the passenger seat controls has a small cover piece missing. New tires (less than 3,000 miles on them). Now, the bad news... Needs a new battery. It's completely dead. The engine has a valve cover leak, which in turn ends up getting into the top of the head and fouls one of the ignition coil packs. The car automatically shuts down that ignition coil pack and then the car runs rough. Replacing the valve cover gasket and, most likely, the ignition coil should fix the issue. I'm just no longer interested in doing the work to the vehicle and am looking to purchase a truck instead. Additionally, the transmission has a slight hesitation when transitioning to a hill. I've taken to shifting it into S4 knowing I'm going to climb a hill. I took it in to Kuni BMW and they said there's nothing wrong, but I don't believe that. There's something going on with it. Sorry I can't provide more information here. So, all in....it was a great car and I LOVED driving it (last year of that body style and the 4.4L V8....always got compliments on it). But.....it doesn't run, needs some work and I need a truck. If you're interested, let me know. Keep in mind though that it does NOT run so you'd need to be able to haul it off. And, that's why it's not listed at nearly $3,000 as auto trader says you'd find at a car lot. Hoping I got everything out there to you. Definitely not trying to hide anything. Could be a great car again with some TLC, or maybe a great parts car for someone that loves the Bimmers that needs parts for their E38.
