Description
Imagine waking on a cool mid 70’s California Saturday with California house finches chirping. The neighbor’s sprinklers are making the infamous SHHHHH-TIK-TIK-TIK-TIK while your room is illuminated by Summers bright yellow sun rays. The air is Aromatized by smoked bacon and fresh black coffee. Could the day get any better? Sipping your morning cup of coffee while you walk into the garage, the sight of a classic VW and the smell of a 1976 Honda CB550 Cafe/Brat Bikes well burned rich fuel mixture engulfs your senses with a natural shot of dopamine! With a turn of the key and a quick kick, your 76 Honda CB550 roars with enthusiastic excitement. With the coast about 30 mins away, you pull the clutch, kick in first & throttle. There’s nothing like a day riding the coastal curves. Now, a classic motorcycle that ignites on the first kick and is ready to hit the coast sounds like a conspiracy theory. Matter of fact when have you seen a vintage Honda, Harley, Triumph, or Royal Enfield starts on the first kick (let alone leave the garage)? Rare if not NEVER. Why? It seems folks worry about being left stranded Making the dream only a dream... All things considered. This 1976 Honda CB550 Cafe/Brat Bike has been under my care for about 9 years. I built this bike by hand in my garage and always kept investing in it over the years to make it extremely reliable. Together, we’ve seen the huge trees of Yosemite, the icy snowfall of Big Bear, and the dusty desert skies of Joshua Tree. But most of all, I created everlasting friendships with fellow riders and unforgettable memories with the ladies (Hope my girl isn’t reading this!). As you can tell by the images this is no rust bucket. This bike is built to endure every type of terrain while remaining very reliable; How so?... -Engine Performance & Reliability - A throaty yet smooth finish, this CB550 has endured a thorough top-end rebuild including new piston rings with rehoned cylinders, a new cylinder head with hardened springs, and relapped valves. Readjusted rocker tappets along with a full tune-up including oil, spark plugs, points, and carb rebuild with larger jets! To finish off this massive power I also added a Delkevic 4into1 chrome exhaust which increased the CB550’s breathability, response, and speed. -Timeless Style for The Experienced - The front forks have been rebuilt and pushed through the tree for a 4-inch drop with the rear springs shortened 3 1/2 inches. The new front and rear brakes are controlled with a modern master cylinder ensuring optimal braking power. Not to mention, front and rear tires were purchased new with new inner tubes and balanced with enough thread to keep you going another 8,000 miles. This bike grips and turns corners well once you understand the nature of the beast. However, if you’re still a rookie I would highly recommend taking it slow initially. -Stable 14.50 Voltage & New Battery - The weakest link on vintage bikes which causes dim lights, engine sputtering, and failed kickstarts is the charging system. This CB550 has been updated with a new Stator and Electronic Voltage Regulator eliminating all the fuss of manual regulator adjusting. All fuses are brand new and all sockets have been regreased for a consistent flow of power at all times. -Built through Nostalgia - Fearing this CB550 would lose its roots if I were to overly customize it with aftermarket parts. I hand fabricated all the original parts to fit the bike as you see it now. From the suspension, fender, gauges, handlebars, and mirrors. This bike is “technically” still factory original and fun to hear the vintage connoisseurs say “ITS ALL THERE!” Before I let you go, this 1976 Honda CB550 Cafe/Brat Bike gathers massive attention anywhere you go. From drivers complimenting you at Red Lights to kids yelling “Mommy! Mommy! Look at motorcycle” outside of Walmart. Not to mention when you drive down the coast to iconic Neptune’s Net for a day with the boys; be prepared to indulge in amazing endless conversations about your 1976 CB550 Cafe/Brat Bike. All things considered, coming across a vintage timeless bike that is not a rusted basket case is hard! Let alone finding one that is built and ready to ride below $8,000 is impossible (Have a google search). But for $4,000 you can have a vintage bike, the reliability of a new bike, and the memories that are created by you and this amazing machine. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
