Background: At an annual company meeting in 1972, Polaroid founder Edwin H. Land pulled an SX-70 camera from his jacket pocket and introduced the world to the future of instant photography. The Polaroid SX-70 was the first SLR instant camera ever made and the first to use integral instant film featuring the Polaroid Classic Border format - the white frame now considered the quintessential icon of instant photography. The camera’s collapsible body, manual focusing system and exposure adjustment options give it a perfect blend of form and precision still sought by photographers today.
