Description
This cream color celluloid thermoplastic bracelet with pink rhinestones is from the 1940s-early 1950s. With its unmistakable style, it was most likely made by Albert Weiss who did not sign the pieces he consigned to upscale department stores. The signature Weiss design, however, is evident in the hinged construction, the oval shape and the round ends where the bracelet “clamps” together. Measures approximately 3/4” width. Inside diameter is 2 1/4” which is equivalent to a size 6 - 6 1/2”. Suitable for a smaller sized wrist. This curved oval bracelet features studded pink pave set rhinestones on the front. All 36 rhinestones are original and in excellent condition. They are beautifully faceted with stunning brilliance. All are firmly in place. The clamper-style hinge works as intended. By design, the two sides of the hinge do not meet exactly as they are slightly offset from each other. There is a slight discoloration on the hinge mechanism as is typical with jewelry of this age. This bracelet is creamy and smooth. Has dazzling appeal. Perfect for any vintage costume jewelry collection. It belonged to my Great Aunt who purchased it from a Department Store in Manhattan. Cash only. Pickup in New Hyde Park, Nassau County, Long Island.
