A Bit of History: Peter Hunt was a self-taught folk artist and furniture decorator who gained fame in the 1930s and 40s for his hand-painted furniture designs inspired by European folk art. He initially started as a shopkeeper and later expanded into a "Peasant Village" in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he created and sold his decorated furniture.
