Description

The Greenlee EML100 Marker-Mate with 3 locator balls is an electronic locator used to detect buried passive electronic markers, including the Omni Marker™ and Uni Marker™ models. It is designed for use in utility marking, mapping, and infrastructure maintenance in construction and industrial settings. While Greenlee previously distributed this product, Tempo Communications now owns the brand. Features and specifications Locates multiple marker types: Detects up to nine different buried utility markers simultaneously when in "scan" mode, including those for power, water, sanitary, telephone, gas, fiber-optic, cable TV, and non-potable water. Pinpoint accuracy: Utilizes digital signal processing and an adjustable detection threshold to narrow the detection area and precisely pinpoint markers. Deep range detection: Can detect markers buried over five feet deep. Audible and visual feedback: Provides users with a clear, large-character display featuring a bar graph and numeric signal strength indicators, along with adjustable audible tones. Durable and weatherproof: Built to withstand rugged worksite conditions and operate in all weather. Long battery life: A typical battery life of 20 hours is powered by twelve AA batteries. An adjustable time-out feature helps conserve battery life. The "3 locator balls": These are actually Omni Markers, which are placed underground to mark key utility points. The EML100 detects the frequencies emitted by these passive markers. How it is used Locating buried utilities: Technicians sweep the area where utilities are expected to be. The EML100 will alert them when it detects a marker, identifying the type of utility line, such as a water or gas line. Mapping critical points: During installation, electronic markers are placed at key network points like splices, tees, and valves. The EML100 is then used to quickly locate and verify these spots for future maintenance or repairs. Saving time on site: The "scan" mode allows for a rapid, comprehensive search for all types of markers at once. This eliminates the need to cycle through different frequencies, which significantly speeds up the locating process.
