1979-ish Lowrey MX-1 electric organ With original books, bench and a red dust cover and bench padding. Solid state throughout. No digital computer or tubes. IT HAS GOT TO GO OR IT WILL BE DISPOSED OF which I really don't want to happen. Please help give it a new life! If this ad is up then it is STILL AVAILABLE. The good: -It is such a beautiful looking instrument. Really stunning. -All of the lights work. Like ALL of them. I don’t understand how thats even possible after all these decades. -When it wants to cooperate it sounds phenomenal and has so many amazing features. Stereo RCA in and out. Speaker cancel so you you won’t bother your flat mates. It has lots of pretty colored buttons, some of which blink and look cool. The bad: -One of the 10 speakers has a voice coil that sounds to be dying. -There is often a drone of Db3 (third Db above middle C). -Every so often a large cluster of notes will play as of the ghost of Charles Ives smashed a piece of wood on the keyboard. I have found no rhyme or reason to it although I think it might be tied into the ‘strings’ module. -the extra noises are unpredictable and at times supersede the keys you’re pressing. -It weights 350 pounds After buying this a year ago and fixing some of the issues (buttons and faders were finicky to say the least) I’m giving up because really, I have way too many other projects to worry about. You’ll need a van or a pickup and one or two furniture dollies along with a strong friend or two. I can help move it out of the house and load up. It’s such an amazing machine. I really hope someone else can get it up in proper order and not just gut it for parts. I’m going to miss having it in our living room.
