Description Beautiful original 19th-century steel engraving titled “Birmingham in England,” dating to approximately c.1850. Published by the historic Bibliographisches Institut in Hildburghausen, Germany, with original period inscriptions visible along the lower margin. The engraving depicts a panoramic view of Birmingham, England, surrounded by countryside, figures and livestock. The piece was hand colored, adding subtle color throughout the original engraved image. Later professionally presented and sold by Sungott Art Studios, New York, whose original label remains attached to the back and identifies the piece as an “Original Antique Engraving” that was hand colored. Presented in an attractive old wood and gilt frame with hanging hardware.
