Description

This pretty P.K. Silesia Hand Painted mustache tea cup and matching saucer plate are made in Germany (1(contact info removed)). Bottom of mustache cup and saucer are marked P.K. Silesia with bird with scepter -mark. The cup and saucer are white with beautifully colored pink roses and gold trim. The cup and saucer are decorated with raised gold dots. P. K. stands for Porzellanfabrik Koenigszelt. Porzellanfabrik is German for “porcelain factory.” Koenigszelt is the town near the factory’s location, in Silesia in northeastern Germany, now found in Poland. It is noted for the fine porcelain products produced by the clay in the area. The amazing luster finish is attained with a process of applying metal salts to a piece of pottery after the initial firing process, resulting in the incomparable sheen and depth luster is known for. Both the cup and saucer is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, discoloration, or repairs. The plate has no crazing or utensil marks that i could find.
