Schwinn

For sale is an October 1973 (KJ serial) Schwinn Stingray in Kool Lemon color. Original paint and screens. I started this project with just the frameset and crank/sprocket and sourced the rest of the parts which are all original Schwinn and period correct. This was originally a Deluxe model however I do not have fenders at this time. Both wheels are freshly re-laced with brand new spokes and both hubs cleaned and regreased. Bottom bracket and steering bearings also cleaned and regreased as well. Rear wheel is an unstamped/knurled Schwinn S2 hoop with a Bendix model 70 and front is a side stamped Schwinn S7 hoop with script Schwinn hub. Brand new repop white letter Slik rear and repop Westwind front tire. Seat is an original Stingray seat from an early (1965-1966) Slik Chik with "patent pending" tag and is in nice shape. Generator with headlight/tailight are currently not working and probably need to be cleaned/rebuilt. Not perfect but a nice bike. Chrome pieces have some scratches on the sissy bar and handlebar tops. Has scratches and paint loss throughout with the worst being on the lower down tube (see pictures) but not bad at all for a 47 year old kids bike. Would make an excellent rider or addition to any vintage muscle bike collection. $500
