This chair/table is as fabulous as it looks. In great condition, this is the real thing far as antiques are concerned. My mother calls it a gossip seat and said that way back when, long before wireless everything…… people would have a chair/table just like this one set up somewhere in their home - and you would have telephone sitting on the top portion of the table and a phone book would be tucked away in the drawer. Story goes like this - people would have a seat after answering a phone call to chat away about their lives and after a while, as you can probably guess by now, these people would start talking mad shit abt anything and everything. Which eventually led to the birth of the Gossip Seat. Maybe my mom is wrong or maybe she’s right for the first time ever and actually told a story with all the correct details. Either way I hate to see it go but I’m moving in about a month and I have to downsize as much as I can. Local pick up only. I’m not able to deliver.
