Description
*PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AS TO WHAT WILL BE REQUIRED TO CLAIM AND PICK UP THE SABOT* This sabot is free to whomever can claim it and pick it up, as is. Requirements to claim Sabot: ~ will need to be able to motor over to my dock at NavBase Point Loma marina, and tow the boat away. ~ will need a place to store the boat: ~ stowing on the water at first will be ideal ~ if ultimately pulling the Sabot out of the water and stowing it on land, you'll first need to pull it up onto a beach and clean the bottom of the boat. I'm giving away this Sabot, first-come-first-served. It is in working condition, it floats, it sails, and has all required parts (see description below), though it has been in the water for some months and will need to be cleaned first, especially the bottom of the hull, which has collected some aquatic life growth (algae & invertebrates). I originally purchased this Sabot some years ago for $800, but now I am giving it away for free to someone who will clean it up and sail it. Towing it away from the dock will be required. I also own a Catalina 30 (not for sale), and I'm moving the slip to a new marina, so there is a deadline involved. I'm trying to give this Sabot away as soon as possible. The Sabot includes all parts necessary to sail, and I have sailed it many times before, though it has been sitting there un-sailed for some months, collecting aquatic life on the hull. Parts included*: ~ hull (& rigging) ~ mast ~ mainsail ~ rudder ~ lee board *Notes: ~ The bottom of the hull is covered in aquatic life which will need to be cleaned. ~ The mast & boom are slightly warped, but I don't believe it would affect sailing quality. ~ The mainsail is in okay condition. However, two of the batten pockets have tears in the sailcloth, which will need to be easily patched using insignia sail repair material. ~ The rudder is jury-rigged, held together with lashings. I've sailed with it just fine, but will likely want to repair it properly, with industrial strength wood adhesive, or obtain a new one ~ The lee board is in good condition. However, the part on the hull where the leeboard attaches has some screws that have come out, and will need to be secured / fastened to the hull again. Please only make serious inquiries. If you schedule a time to come look at the boat, please come prepared to tow it away. I intend to only need to take a trip down to the dock once to make this transaction. Feel free to inquire with any further questions.
