Description

I bought this boat from a man in Astoria, OR seven years ago for $3800, which was a deal. I last had it in the water at the Des Moines Marina before COVID. We've had our fun and I'd like to pass on to a new owner and make some space. It is perfectly seaworthy, has a mast, main sail, spinnaker, etc. in very good condition. I was sailing it up and down the sound prior to trailering and storing it. It is a very stable design and I've always felt comfortable, even in a good wind. The keel is retractable; I had the cable replaced two years ago, so it has a lot of wear left, considering that was the original cable from 1977. There is also a 9.9 hp outboard motor, which always starts right up. I repainted the bottom with Petit Hydrocoat 2 years ago to discourage marine growth. I am including all the needed/required safety gear, the fuel tank, the special hose that connects to the fuel tank, and a working trailer. The trailer was homemade, sturdy, has newer tires which are still in very good shape and the wheel bearings were greased a few years ago, with little use since. The little front wheel fell off of the trailer, so that will be an easy project. You could potentially sleep 4 in the cabin. The interior is in fair shape, with retro 1977 colors. There is no galley or head. You can keep it trailered. However, the mast is heavy and takes at least two strong people or three not so strong people to raise it. Someone has to make sure the mast stays upright,, while the rigging is secured. Otherwise, it is pretty straight forward. I liked keeping it at the marina, because then the set up was minimal. I think it is worth about $4500, but it can be yours to enjoy for $3200. I have title in hand for both the boat and trailer. I will have it ready for whoever on Saturday AM.
