Description: This type of calathea plant is noted for its striking variegated leaves and is an extremely attractive indoor house plant. This variety has elliptic leaves (6"-10" long) that are glossy, dark green with a distinctive rose-colored midrib and a regular feathering of Rose markings. These markings form a ring between the mid ribs and leaf margins.b Leaf undersides are dark reddish/purple. At dusk, the leaves fold together in a manner that somewhat resembles praying hands, hence sometimes commonly called "prayer plant". As with all calatheas, jungle velvet is not a beginner houseplant and can be fussy at times letting you know if it's unhappy or lacking some type of care.
